LaKrista Light through Dark Water Large Jar

LaKrista’s lidded jars are one of her signature forms. They drew us in when we discovered her practice. A true archetype, beautifully resolved in proportion and detail, with a kind belly of a body that begs to be cupped. Her Light through Dark Water glaze brings another dimension to the jar. They have a beguiling, witchy quality. LaKrista says of the glaze: ‘When I was developing and refining this glaze, I had memories of light filtering through water to depths usually unseen in my mind’s eye. There is something about this quality  that transcends a memory of a singular place. Similarities in geology, in water, in light. Rich, elemental.’
