From a workshop next to his home in Burntisland, Jonnie Crawford turns timber into extraordinary vessels that bring out the inherent personality of each piece of wood to spectacular effect. Works of art and craft, they are magnificent centrepieces that are supremely functional too.
In Jonnie’s words: “This large statement bowl is made from elm sourced in East Lothian, Scotland. Turned from the ‘green’ (fresh cut) timber, the bowl was carefully air-dried over a period of six months during which time the natural movement of the wood allowed the bowl to adopt an organic form. Carefully sanded by hand, and finished with natural tung oil.”
42cm diameter, 15cm height.
