Jessie White Lovers

A pair of companions in Spalted Birch have been wrapped in vegetable tanned leather and stitched into place. The graphic angularity of the forms is softened by their tactile skins, leaving just the surface that holds the brass candle cap to reveal the spalted wood material interior. As individual candlestick holders they have a certain aloof presence on a desk or sideboard. When they come together as a pair, they acquire an anthropomorphic charm, like a stoic aged couple immortalised in chit-chat.
